I hate when people (or bodies of people IE governments etc) do things in Gods (or Allah or whatever you want to call him/her/it/them) name! Most of us have sort of forgotten whats going on over there in Iraq. That doesn't mean its not happening anymore. We've just started to get used to the thought. Whether we like it or not.Anyway, back to the topic:
I get frustrated when people (or governments) say they follow god and then do something like.... Invade a country?? This piece is dedicated to using God as an excuse for evil.
Just sick of people going out and doing things in Gods name....
And now i'm very sleepy!

I will try and reply to all your comments and such but it might take a little while...
P.S. It seems that some people are wondering how religion comes into play here. One of my main points in this argument is the official US motto. 'In God We Trust'. ( See here: [link] )
I do not believe that you can say such a thing, such a bold statement, without at least IMPLYING that everything you do is of god.
Once you begin to portray your allegiance (If you will) In such a way, you can no longer really separate the two anymore (State and religion).
But thats my belief anyway...

I wasn't sure which direction they were heading at first, I had to look at it a bit. It's interesting how men of power flow us in the direction you describe, and the message itself would have us going the other way. It's an odd dichotomy we're created around what could have been, should have been, an instrument of peace.

It is because humans are short sighted, I think. We do what is good for us now, at the cost of our own future; or what is good for the individual, at the cost of the race. If we could see past ourselves, we could have peace, both within and without.

Yeah... Well, it's same thing when some high-profile priests etc. are abusing their autorithy in a bad way sometimes and get involved into politics too much. Relligion should be a good thing, but it is used as tool of law and mobs control too often...

I certainly agree. Too often do we take religion and play god. because thats what it says. All the right words in the wrong persons ears can still create all the chaos in the world.

XD I was a little scared about this piece since I'm a Christian, but I read your description. Totally agreed. To do evil in God's name denies God even being good. One of the reasons why people can be critical about religions in general. :/
Good use of symbolism and irony used in this piece. I was a little concerned about the cross being used since you mentioned Allah as well, but it ties to that ironic theme since that symbol for peace and hope can also be used for war. No wonder it got a daily deviation. :3

I used the cross mainly because that is what most of us use to depict religion. Its one of the most common symbols of religion. At least, thats how people see it.
