Interesting choice of equipment. What's your reasoning behind it?

It is meant to be a sci fi analogue of boarding parties from the age of sail.
So two revolvers instead of flintlock pistols, a shotgun instead of a blunderbuss, and then heat axes instead of boarding axes.
The flamer is just cause flamethrowers are neato.
