Things were turbulent at TF Industries. It had been years since the mercenaries had gotten new weapons and it was up to Miss Pauling to find a way to get them excited about a new lot of hats. Something she was dreading. Granted, Miss Pauling was better with social settings than the Administrator but that was like saying a well fed shark is safer to swim with than a hungry one. How was she going to convince a group of mercenaries to forget weaponsAs soon as she was alone (and in an unbugged room) she voiced her frustration out loud,
“How am I going to get them excited about more hats?”
As the words left her lips, something odd happened. Her black hair started to turn blond and puffy and she began to shrink. Her clothes shrank with her and began to take on brighter colors with her purple blouse turning bright green. But she didn’t notice any of this, not even as her glasses merged into her face, becoming a pair of contact lenses. A warm and fuzzy thought entered her head- that she could explain it easily if everyone was together.
“Maybe if we arranged a meeting to explain the situation…” she muttered out loud to herself as her face stretched out into a muzzle. With that unwarranted optimism, the floodgates opened in her mind. Crazy ideas of open communication, friendly resolution, affordable mortgages, and fighting being something only for party games. As more wholesome thoughts entered her head, it grew larger and her body shrank more until her head was the largest part of her and blond fur grew over her body. Her concern at her task was turning into glee.
“Or better yet, we had a funny hat party!” said the Shitzu who was no longer recognisable as Miss Pauling. Her human features had been replaced with canine ones, giving her a white fuzzy muzzle with a little black button nose, floppy ears and even a cute little doggy tail. Isabelle, with her green gingham vest and hair tied up like a bell bag, was thrilled to put her organisational skills to use planning the party.
“I’ll start making the banners right away!”, she declared as she practically skipped out the door!
