Bear's hooves left the ground in a desperate leap before plummeting to the ground as both he and his rider looked to the next jump. Between his own heaving breaths and the rider prompting him onward, he wasn't able to think as his legs stumbled to run faster to keep up with his body falling onward.
In the distance was a shape of another team, one that Bear and Eicca had met earlier that day when Bear in his less-than thoughtful way had plunged nose first into fellow competitor Excalibur's hay. With a nicker of greeting, he seemed to think he had become the stallion's best friend in only moments. Quickly chased by his person, Eicca apologized profusely, trying to tug the stallion away from the other's hay. However, Bear was proving that he had the sturdy neck of a warmblood and knew how to use it.
Now however, Bear and Eicca were on the same page as they both threw themselves forward, in tandem with turns and rising to the jump, and flew over the final one.
