and so ..the story of our little hunter goes on, here is the previous story ..[link]in this scene, the hunter set up a trap that might catch the golden deer a.k.a indian forest god.
he is such a young and naive boy that he wont kill the deer instanly, instead he used rope in order to stop the deer's movement.
but, do you think a forest god could fall into such a lousy trap?
we'll see about that....

it's a blend between watercolor and photoshop..glad you like it, i thought when you give even a slightiest change in your traditional work DA wants you to categorize it as digital..but i dunno...this debate has been in my works since "once upon a time" ...

I'm pretty sure if it's just tweaking something, it's better off in the original gallery. I mean people tweak pencils all the time in photoshop, but if you've ever pencilled digitally, it looks nothing alike, so they really should be kept seperate. By the same logic, this which still looks traditional to me astonished me when I saw digital.

ahh the book , yes, i hope i can manage to bind all the illustrations together in a book.., because the indonesian lisence of this book belongs to the buddhist organization..it can be a book, but must not be distributed in indonesia..so if you're not in indonesia, you can "hope" there will be an official book. i'm still negotiating the copyright with indonesian buddhist organization...so...wish me luck..

I think that the golden forest god is going to fall into the trap out of kindness to the small boy. Perhaps the god will then share a Teaching Story with the boy, as gods seem to like to tell stories to innocent children.
You used many beautiful shades of green in this picture. I personally find green difficult to use, especially if I am trying to show realistic foliage, grass and trees. I think that I see what you did here that made it work so well: You pulled in the orange-yellow of the sunlight that is in the lightest section of the trees (on the trunks of the trees especially), and you put that orange-yellow into the greens of the grass. The greens don't overpower the eyes because the orange-yellow is in there to help anchor the greens into the composition.
...Hopefully that made sense... I work with colors quite a bit, and it really tickles my brain when I see how other artists make a bunch of "difficult" colors work properly as you have done.

Oh no! I don't want to spoil the story for anyone else. I will try to not give away any story secrets next time. It's such a good story, though, and I am glad that Jakata is the kind of god who will share his wisdom with others.
As to detailed comments: I find that many people will say that the artwork is great, that it is excellent, that it is pretty. But when people tell me this, I wonder what it is about the work that they like so much? What makes the picture better than others that I have done? I think that the artists whose work I like may feel the same way. When I like a particular piece of artwork, I make sure I say why I like it so that the artist knows which ideas seem to work well. You may expect detailed comments from me when I give comments!
