Sam, this is really neat. I love the colors, and the surface. I had to read your comments to realize what it was. You're good with that - with your sence of mystery. I love the focus, and the depth of field. I also like how you have the different scrapings to back up the main one. I can't find anything wrong with it!
This shot reminds me of something you'd see in a gallery somewhere.

your photos never cease to grab my attention. i have over 2000 deviations in my inbox and this one really snagged me. you always have the most interesting shapes, textures, and angles. this is certainly no exception. and the lime green is fantastic.
