What is a Gary Stu? Well, it's exactly the same to a Mary Sue, only male (Mary being female)

And what are these you might ask? Well, allow me to explain.
Whenever someone sees a tv show they like and decides to make a character for it, that is called a fan character. Innocent enough, however there are some people who go to extreme limits to make their character look cool. They do some of the following

A) They give them god like powers
B) They make them either Best Friend or Life Partner to one of the main characters
C) Make them better than the main characters
D) Either be one of the parents or one of the main characters children (to which their characters help concieve)
E) A recolour of a character
F) Always a hero
G) Have all their virtue ratings at maxinum
H) If a bad guy have them 100% evil without any proper reason and do it for the soul purpose of being evil, plus they are able to beat up the main characters but once it is tapped by the hero character, they fall like a ton of bricks.

If a fan character does at least one of those, they can be considered a Mary Sue/Gary Stu

Put short, Over powered characters who are better and best friends to the main characters.

I know a fair few people who are guilty of this on the 101 forum i go to but nothing in this picture is influenced by them.

Its just me taking the mickey out of Mary Sues in general, not directed at one person.

You may also note the overpowered character is called Gary. Get the hint?
