Discord and Rainbow Dash;
Discord, created by the great wizard Starswirl the bearded as a successor. After Starswirl feared the age of alicorns was coming to an end and the pony race doomed without great magic users, even feeling celestia and luna werent going to be up to the task of taking care of equestria after he was gone, Starswirl casted a curse of immortality onto himself to make sure he could live long enough to make sure equestria was left in good hands before he expired.
Apart of his plan was Discord, a creature meant to be filled to the brim with magical energy. A pony but more, a creature like no other before.
Discord would become a student under his father and beside Celestia and Luna, the three being good friends.
Starswirl however would never take on the mission to conceal stygian forever, finding a different way to deal with the pony of shadows and getting to stay by his students side.
Discord would grow into a powerful wizard like Starswirl and work beside the sisters into the new age of ponies.

Discord was named the Prince of Magic and take over Starswirls job teaching new unicorns magics at the school for gifted unicorns.
As a prince he was given a tower, special treatment and guards to keep him safe.
Among those guards would be rainbow dash, a pegasus who took to the life of a guard after being saved by the head of celestias guards in an incident when she was a child.

Rainbow is a rather serious pony with a sense of duty and stayed by discords side at all points to ensure his safety.
After some time Discord's goofy and awkward ways soften a bit of their rough exterior, showing this equally goofy pony inside.
The two learned they shared a lot for goofing off, pulling a prank or two and not having to work so hard all the time. Being able to let their walls down, Discord no longer having to be starswirls perfect son and rainbow the perfect head of the guards.
After one serious invasion on cantorlot where rainbow dash protected Discord and earning themselves a nasty scar Discord realized all the feelings they had for Rainbow were love and confessed to them right there in a swarm of no good bad guys.
Now their known as the prince and his betrothed the general.
