Excellent. It looks like she is so and so alone in a future which she may not be able to challenge and change its frontiers.

IΒ΄m glad to hear that about your son. I hope heΒ΄ll have a good trip and wish him the best of luck with his missions.I will probably get back there in a year or so . Some friends of mine have a humanitary project there and IΒ΄m very interested in it .

powerful and very touching... melancholic is what I feel when I saw the thumbnail of it... Am so glad that you could capture the moment and that others can "feel" being there. Wonderful!
Cheers!!!

What I really like about this is the combination of her dark brown skin against the dress's bright white. That combined with the detail of the light blue illegible writing on the burnt-looking cupboards.
And looking at it again, it is interesting to look at it from the perspective of the scene having been built in a studio... hmm...

Well... it would be easy to shot in a studio but it would really loose the meaning . I mean... the only reason I took this photo was because it was there without my intervention . If I would have changed something... made her aware of me, then I guess I would have lost the moment... it would have been just the usual shot of pity

Look at the lighting.
So many textures and it's flowing with emotion.
Blazing with possibilities.

That's amazing. It's really, really emotional. She looks so innocent and shameless, while sad at the same time. Beautiful textures and colors, as well. Wonderful shot.

Thank you... It really was an emotional place and the sad part is that it's so easy for us to change a children's life but sometimes we prefer to turn our backs to the future and center more on the present

now this is what photography is all about.
its got meaning and depth and makes you think.
not like some of the rubbish on devart which is just the same ol' stuff all the time.
well done

Thank you for the kind words... I guess that I try to do my best to put in my photos what inspired me from my travels and also from other fellow artists . Most of them dedicate time to different photography themes . This means that even though some photos might look rubbish I try to find a reason for which that shot was made and maybe try to find inspiration from that reason .

sure.
we can make the difference, just because the total is equal to the soma of the parts who belong to it. we must begin from that idea.
keep it up!

picture is great, but very sad.
have you talked to her?
π: 0 β©: 1
BaciuC In reply to wladko [2008-01-12 04:23:57 +0000 UTC]
I wish I could say that I did but I did not... she was too small and shy and she didn't talk English . Her parents were kind enough to let me inside their house though
