Title:Cry No MoreMedium:water mixable oil paint
Size:2ft x 3ft
Model:Rave
Collection of Atty.Lumibao
Rendered in the frozen portrait of the artist's seven-year old son, this painting is a dismal image of his own, youthful self. Ironically, this vivid orchestration of colors in realistic form narrates the early, untimely death of his beloved mother. According to Jaylo, this experience serves as his first, grave tribulation that eventually shaped him into the poetic soul that he has become. Unlike any ordinary child, he has even witnessed the dramatic passing away of his lifeless mother within his very own eyes. The gravity of pain was too much especially for his age, and had he been an average soul, he would have been shattered by the imperceptible scars of emotional devastation. But instead, he became numb. He was forced to swallow that bitter chunk of truth and live with it. All those tears that he could never have cried out solidified into an armor of anti-sensation and served as the sole shield of his much scarred soul. The pointing fingers around the central figure poses as a subtle symbolism for the rundown of trials in his life, screaming and pointing straight in his face. It is also highly noticeable that the child's face seems to glow with confidence and strength, despite the deluge of negativities trying to devour him. This is to simply represent that he has no choice but to get tough, especially in an imperfectly molded dog-eat-dog world. The painting was depicted in a whimsical manner, as if it was taken from an imaginary utopia, one that exists in the surreal corners of a delusive mind. However, according to Jaylo, this secret place is located inside him and it is not a mere product of delusion. It's not running away from the world. In fact, it's the protective shelter that embraces him as faces the sweet tragedies of this candy-coated world.

I really like this painting. And thank you so much for including the abstract on the piece; I wish more artists would do that (especially in such a genre of work as this), it so good to to have an insight into what an artist's thoughts were.

Now this is what ART is all about,,themes that make people think..tapping into topics that mean something and are quite frankly something we all understand..I know this feeling well, as we all do at times! Dog eat dog that is it in a nut shell. Expressive work you create!!! Wonderful!

Like someone mentioned, it does remind me of Linkin Park's Numb.
Beautiful and easy on the eyes, but in this case, more importantly for my taste in a piece like this, concept <3 Though I don't usually lean on the "deep" emotional sort of art pieces, I find this one very peculiar. I want to feel pity for the figure, but proud at the figure for his strong appearance. But it still makes me sad, because despite this strong appearance, I feel like subconsciously, this figure/boy must still be carrying a pain. Consciously, his feelings are numb; the numbness working as a sort of shield, but a shield can't remove the scars. It can only remedy them, by allowing him to cooperate with the circumstances and moving forward. A good thing, but I can't help but feel that a shield is only temporary. Only good enough until it's been used for so long. (I feel like, as long as he has this shield, or numbness, he wont be cured of a sorrow or emptiness. Something along those lines)
So it makes me feel sad.
Love the colors.

Wow, you sure know how to tell stories.
I really like his face, his eyes seem cold and hard.
But we all know inside he's just a sad, lonely, little kid.
.. I have an urge to hug him. ; n ;
