love your painting. please can you tell me how you make the acrylics look so nice. i am trying very hard to work in acrylics too, but they don't work for me. they dry too quickly and my paintings look flat. what brand do you use? i am using atelier, which is said to be workable all day, i tried retarder as well, still didn't work. i will give one more try with a gel retarder in liquitex i saw on internet. but they say to not use to much or your painting will look patchy. please help.

i saw your works already and they were all done in oils.the thing is you were already used to paint in oils thats why changing your medium to acrylic can be a bit tricky.with acrylics they will dry fast no matter what brand you use...so you really have to work on tonings faster and you have to mix every tones you need so it wont look flat in the end.just be patient in adding them one at a time..but once youve mastered it acrylics ,are nice mediums...less odors safe for the family or lil kids around the house and great if your painting has a time limit or a deadline.....dont hesitate to ask me again if you have more questions magda...ill be here

thank you for your detailed answer. i agree that's more convenient to work in acrylic. the famous australian painter robert hannaford got very sick last year from painting with oils, now he tries to protect himself but he wouldn't concive changing to acrylic for the kind of work he's doing. one of my proffessors, chris orchard, works in acrylic and does wonderful things.

thats sad....i guess we still have to protect our health first before we paint....i tried all paints already even tried painting murals on cars...you can imagine the levels of toxic in tnat paints....i believe that if you want to perform well or paint well you have a responsibility to take of yourself.keep painting and i hope to see more works from my fellow artist.take care

This is amazing. I love the colours, the concept is very cool, and the composition is well planned. The light/shadow work is awesome, and the detail on the box is a nice touch.
