This pendant was made as a present for my mum's birthday.She loves my mechanical pendants, she also loves hearts and the colour purple so this design seemed a perfect fit.
I hand carved the heart from purple heart wood. I bent an old watch back to fit the shape then using recycled cogs and gears created a small unique movement.
I fitted a 16GB USB drive inside which can simply be pulled out when required. It features a blue activity LED framed by a metal ring that shows through the lid of the key when working.
I have also given the wood a glossy finish leaving it more durable but also silky to the touch.

All the watch parts have come from damaged or irreparable wrist watch's that have been hand disassembled and then combined to create a true, miniature work of art.

Ï like the heart symbol. Everyone takes it as the ultimate symbol of "pure, innocent love" when in fact it's modeled after a womans butt. I just love the double meaning in that. With that said I'm more of a spade kind of girl. Still, I would love whoever gave me something this amazing. Your mom is very lucky.
