Ever since I watched the sixth season of Regular Show, I never liked/hated how just as things between Mordecai and CJ were going so well, Margaret returned and kept sticking her oar in and ruining the relationship and by the end of the sixth season, Mordecai and CJ broke up.

Ever since that, I can imagine a universe where Mordecai tried to speak his mind the right way to CJ and still chose her and they would stay together and officially become a couple. CJ (like Eileen) would even be involved in the space adventures in the eighth season and at the end after Pops sacrifices himself and after everyone returns to Earth, Mordecai and CJ would marry and have kids of their own.
