Description
Spell gauntlets are used by valarin mages to protect themselves from magical backlash. The energy and force used in spell-casting can be very dangerous to soft tissues. The gauntlets are composed of a metal that allies with a certain mineral that has magical dampening qualities. Any metal can be mixed with the mineral. There are three kinds of mages: hex mage, shield mage, and caster. Each one needs a unique gauntlet style that fits their needs. Hex mage gauntlets are light and have claw tips for carving runes. Shield mages, as the name says, use gauntlets that are basically a large buckler with plenty of space for runes and are good for defense. Caster gauntlets have broad faces for runes and are generally medium armor of some kind.
