Well, for a second submission within a few days time, I'd like to show the style I'm aiming for. I think this is probably the best thing I have ever drawn. There might be a few flaws, but I'm not sure. Blinded by admiration, I suppose. Though, I do know that the hands need some work but I've never been good at hands.You can full view if you want to, but there aren't any major details that you can't see in the shrunken version (unless it's obnoxiously srunk). The eyes look really open, but if I get around to coloring this I think that would add mopre of the depth they need. Perhaps I can even move the eyeballs up a little and that would help somewhat. Oh well, ideas for future work.
Oh yeah and a half started head is in there. You get to see behind the scenes!! GASP. There goes my secrets! Enjoy

She's cute! I love her hair. The perspective is a little off, and I think your problem with the hands is that you gave her a wrist and fingers, but no actual hand. I always sketch in a square-ish shape first to be the hand, and then add fingers, it tends to work for me.
Overall, it's really cute! She looks so smiley. :]

Thank you for the comment--especially the constructive criticism! I always appreciate it! Hands always give me a problem, and this is a relatively old piece but I keep falling into the same trap. So, I tend to draw it so I hide the hands. Bad, I know!
Bodies tend to give me trouble, and you commenting on this seemed to pull this art out of the grave, in essence. I somehow managed to not draw so well since then! Which is exampled nicely on my little online comic.
At any rate, you've got some great stuff in your gallery (I'll just do an overall comment here). "Repairs" is nice--I like the technological detail (something I like doing too). You've got a knack for drawing bodies! Also, anything Harry Potter related is always a wonderful thing.

Oh, and yes-- I hid hands for a long time, too. But then, my friend showed me one way to draw them so that they usually looked good, and then I just drew pages of a hand in THAT POSITION because I liked how it looked, and from there I've jsut gotten better. Now I actually ENJOY drawing hands, which is odd, as I'm still not very good at it. XD Here, let me show you what my friend showed me:

Okay, that's bad and really sketchy, since I did it in about two minutes on a school computer (I want my tablet, wahh!) but it has the basic principles. He showed me the one on the left, with the ring and middle fingers together - for some reason it always looked graceful and elegant, and it's pretty simple to draw once you get the hang of it. From then on I've always used that method of drawing in the shape of the palm first, and then adding fingers as need be.
The one on the right is just something completely unrelated - that's jsut how I distinguish the palms of hands from the back, the bulge of the thumb and the crease just at the base of the fingers.
Sorry, didn't mean to lecture there. XD I just had so much trouble drawing hands for so many years that I want to help as much as possible if there's anything I can do. I hope this helps, and - I know this is cheesy and it sucks and I hate to hear it, but - practice makes perfect. x.x

I think I could use friends like you around. Most of mine are like "yeah, just draw, it's easy!". Sure. Okay.
Quick aside: I'd love a tablet too! It's painfully obvious that I ink my comics and art in general using my mouse. But, you know, tablets can be pricey. Plus I fiddled with it and I would need to get used to the whole new method of drawing. That would be weird. I'm not ready for change!

It was also very nice of you rant on like that, I always appreciate help like that. I'm glad you stumbled across my art to provide some helpful commentary! Hopefully I'm not cutting into you free time too much with my inability to draw!!
I need to work on my faces and bodies a lot too, I think when I do my comic (sort of the goal of my artwork) I tend to rush through the art. I need to work on that habit!
But, no, you're right. Cheesy phrases do hold meaning (well, okay, not all of them), but I do need to practice more!

Haha, aw, you're so sweet! XD Yeah, I got my tablet for Christmas from my parents and it is my BABY. It's the best present I've ever gotten. I named him Sir Beanfeet. XP It took a little while to get used to it, but I was SO bad with a mouse that it was definitely worth it.

Oh man I should totally ask for one!! I'm using a scanner (surprise!) for most of my stuff, but that creates a problem if I ever happen to be not near it and I want to draw (but still have my lappy top, which is on the verge of death.. poor girl!). Nice name for it, by the way. Should have you name my car, I'm at a loss for it.
And I've devWatched you too so I, too, may stalk to you! Though be forewarned, I update sporadically as of late, though I was debating uploading a bunch of my older artwork.
