Mighty fine choice of subject.
Tight Palette that is a good balance between vibrant and dark.
Great use of texture to break up the more broad areas.
Subtle use of animation to convey expression.
The only things I could maybe argue for are personal preference based stylistic differences that would probably not make this any better or worse.
That said, I'd like a version with a slightly darker palette and perhaps a bit less symmetry, maybe some cracking at the base to age him a bit.
All in all, I can only hope to one day have such a great handle on the medium and technique. I am particularly pleased with the smoothness of the shading in the animated regions.
