i love the old fashioned wallpaper backgrounds you use for these. are they from photos that you superimpose drawings on to or are they real materials?

this particular one is all raw materials. i occasionally just scan the patterns if i don't feel like ruining them.

most of the things i do are in photoshop, but this particular image is just a scanned copy of a mixed medium piece i did a while back. the background was the top off of some old box, the rainbow was cut out of a magazine, and the face was painted with acrylics.

i do the same thing. you know your face better than anyone elses face, right. you look at it everyday. i try not offend; i can make myself as ugly as i want. this is not ugly though, i like it very much.

I really like this the multi colour 'spiel' really stands out against the background, and it reminds me of an animation in the 'Megalomaniac' Incubus music video, nice one

i'm glad you like this piece, it's actually my favorite too. i enjoy painting, but i'm not so swell at it. i used to acrylic paint on the face in this piece, but that's it.
