Thanks! And actually, I wish I had a different lens for my dslr. I love the one I have, but it's limited in uses and sometimes wish I had a wider DOF, which this lens doesn't offer very well.

It's also depends on how large the sensor is in the camera(dunno if you know or not). I asked about that in the forums before I bought my new digital. I kept looking at the pictures and the f numbers were all at 3.4 or lower and the picture was crystal clear but thats because the sensor in 'point and shoot' digitals are small as aposed to say the large surface area of 35mm film.

I wasn't aware of that. Short DOF is just a part of macro photography, even moreso the closer in you get. So I really haven't had a chance to test the DOF on a "regular" lens, since I don't have one for it yet. Once I do get one, I'll let you know how it is.
