yeah. But don't worry.... she doesn't have all the responsibility to herself. Her parents originally bought Ria in may 2002 for a companion to their Rottweiler/bernese mountain dog mix, Ryder, 3 months before my friend was born. But sadly in 2008, Ryder died at 7 years old due to pancreatic cancer, leaving Ria alone and lonely, but her parents did'nt want to get a new dog anytime soon due to the fact that Ria was already enough work as it is to take care of. Then 2 years passed, my friend being 8 years old, started wanting a dog of her own more and more. At first, her parents were reluctant to the idea, but they then agreed if she promised to take 100% full responsibility, got good grades in school, and collected $700 dollars in starter money by her 12th birthday, they would take her to the local shelter to adopt a dog. And she had done all that by the time she was 10, 2 years earlier than agreed. Her parents though, were'nt quite sure if she was responsible enough to take on the task of caring for a dog herself, so they said no. But, Β the tables then turned on her 11th birthday when their family friend (who was in fact, a wheaten breeder who they had bought ria from) offered them one of the female puppies(then being dubbed "princess Bushmills von SCWT the first" millie for short from the 7-puppy litter that had been born 2 months before for free for a gift to katie. she then spent her time training the little fur bundle along with her mom 2 hours daily, and the puppy, being a fast learner,was fully trained and housebroken in 3 weeks. to this day, even though she is only 2 (almost 3) still retains all her puppy energy that will probably last a lifetime. Oh and last but not least, Rex was adopted from a shelter 3 weeks ago by her 16 year old brother cameron. he is currently 3 months old

Awww!!! What a wonderful Wheaten filled story!!! 
Your friend's story reminds me a bit of how I ended up getting my Navi! I too felt ready to have a dog to call my own and eventually got her! Funny how it can work out nicely in the end!
By chance, do you know the kennel name or the breeder's name? I am just curious if maybe her Wheatens are related to my Navi in some way?
Bless her for rescuing a dog in need! It's not too often one finds a Wheaten puppy at a shelter!!

I do not, but i'll be sure to ask her next time I see her.And I forgot to mention,Rex is not a purebred wheaten. They think he may have collie in him due to his large size, deep bark, and long legs with a very bushy tail, but we normally just call him a wheaten as his looks are more on the terrier side.
