Description
I haven't done a serious pencil drawing in a long time, and I wanted to get back into it, so here's a portrait of Angeal Hewley. Why? Because I love his character, and he's a handsome man.I'm going to be doing more pencil drawings like this, so look forward to it.

Poor Angeal...At least he and Zack got to see each other again in the Lifestream!
I hope he comes back with Genesis and the other characters to meet Cloud, the WRO, and even the bad guys.

Angeal is extremely likeable. You can't not like him! Well for me, I'd go after CC Sephiroth first, but Angeal would be second.
I mean, seriously, he's just so manly and handsome.

Oh, love Angeal's character, and Zack's, and Sephiroth's. I think I might want to draw Sephiroth and Genesis too, to go with this one of Angeal.

I was actually gonna say that you and I made a set of three but then I was like nope not the right people. I failed with my Zack picturing my cloud picture I thought was amazing. You should do the seph and genesis picture though I'd like to see what they would look like from you.

Well, Cloud, Zack, and Angeal all carry the Buster Sword eventually, so they have their own group of three too.
I've drawn Sephiroth a few times before, so I might want to do a drawing of Genesis first, since I've never drawn him before. It should be challenging, but fun. I don't when I'll do them, but hopefully I can have another one finished before a couple weeks go by.
Ahaha, if you see them, I hope you like them!

I'm not very far really. I just know the background by heart since I grew up with it and started looking things up since I could work the computer. But I'm where Zack has all the goddess materia to put into the slots. I haven't caught the boss yet because I keep dying.

Oh, so you're really close then! I haven't played through the game in at least 2-3 years, so I might end up doing it again this year. It's really good, story-wise, though I actually wish it started sooner in the story, and had a bit more exploring to do, like the original VII did.
I've looked up possibly all I can of that entire storyline (meaning across all the games for VII's compilation). Sometimes I search for stuff again to see if there's anything new, but there usually isn't. The newest thing I found was a novel that's been translated to english by fans; it was written a couple years ago in Japan, and covers a new protagonist between the time of the original game and the movie. I don't know if you've heard of it before or if you're interested in it.

There is actually a game before Crisis Core called Before Crisis. It was a prequel to Crisis Core obviously but it was only available in one of the first Japanese smartphones. I tried to get it but even if I did get it it would be in Japanese which I don't fully know just yet. I'm in Japanese 2 at the early college now. Just started Japanese this year.
I actually haven't heard about the novel yet. I've only loomed up information when I think I might have told everyone else wrong. I'm kind of the biggest fan over there. My friend actually is a lot older than me and can't tell the background like i can. *shrug* it's kind of sad

Oh yeah, Before Crisis focuses on the Turks; it would be nice if it was released in America too, but who knows if it'll ever be?
Oh, you're learning Japanese? Cool! I only know a few words, so if I ever wanted to visit Japan, I'd need to do a lot of learning myself. And I really have no idea how to read Japanese, just a few spoken words.
I have a cousin who's as into FFVII as I am, but she's the only one I personally know that knows so much about VII as well (by personally I also mean 'in person', I've met someone online who knows a lot too). I just love the characters a lot, and of course when I love the characters I always have to find out as much as I can about them and the story/world. It's good practice for writing my own books too.

I didn't now that about before Crisis. And sorry I haven't replayed sooner I've been busy. But Japanese is a lot funner and easier than people think. My friend and I took Chinese all through middle school and so he's still doing it. The entire time in middle school I just wanted to learn Japanese. I didn't really like Chinese so I switched. Do not try Chinese unless you are prepared to learn without a definite alphabet.Japan has two but that better than none.
I know what you mean about not knowing people personally. My dad was the one who owned the game so when I came along he gave it to me and I started playing it at about 5 years old on ps1. He officially gave it to me about three years ago when I was 12. So he was the only one that I knew that knew about the game. As of now I only know 1 person that knows close to what I know.my dad doesn't even know what I know. It's kind of sad.
I don't really write because every time I do it comes out really bad and then the first comment I see I get hyped up and happy thinking it's good then it turns out I get either cussed out or something that makes me really sad so I quit.

Oh, that's okay! It takes me a while to reply too sometimes (like now ). You mean there's no definite alphabet for Chinese? That sounds strange. But yeah, Japanese is something I'm sure I'll take time to seriously learn someday. I heard years ago that it was the 'hardest' language to learn if you already knew English, but I think that's more of a matter of opinion, not a fact.
I think once you know the basics of a language, the learning goes more smoothly.
Ah, my parents have never been in Final Fantasy games, sadly. I wish they were, but they're not. My sister likes them well enough, but it's my cousin that I mentioned who loves them like I do. Which is nice, because we can talk about them in depth whenever we want. Some people are 'mild' gamers, where they love games but don't delve into it too much; when I'm really interested in a game, I like to research it. That probably makes me a nerd, but ah well. Well, if you want to ever talk about the games, you can talk to me if you like. I always enjoy chatting about them.
If you enjoy writing, you shouldn't ever quit it. Even if you don't want to show other people, that's fine too. I know it's nice to write something and to have people like it as well; you can't force someone to like something, but I believe that when you create something you love, there will always be someone else out there that'll love it too. I do a lot of writing, and I'm currently writing a fantasy series. But I also do a lot more personal writing, just for myself. Sometimes I think about posting them here on DA, but I usually don't, because they're too personal.

Chinese from what I learned I didn't recognize a definite alphabet so I'm not really sure but I really don't think they do. Japanese kind of hard when you first start but it gets easier over time.
My mom always got made at my dad for playing because he wouldn't help with anything and he would play for hours on end. Nobody else in my family knows anything about it. You probably shouldn't tell me that u can talk to you about games because it would never end.
I actually wasn't a good writer anyway and I don't really like writing but I just wanted to try it but now I don't even care and inform want to write anymore since I'm too blunt and fiction isnt my thing. I don't want people to know too much about me so I don't write or draw much. If I really wanted to I could bit I don't really want to anymore.

Well, if it's not your thing, then no big deal, right? Everyone enjoys doing something different. I like to share some things about myself, but it takes a special person to actually know most things about me, like my dreams and what I want in my life, and stuff like that.

I never got to play VII until I was in my mid to later teens. The first FF game I played was IX, because my aunt owned it. I actually first got introduced to FFVII through the movie Advent Children. I never saw a FF look so cool, and it was all cg! I was instantly a fan.
I've heard a lot about Devil May Cry, but I've never had a chance to play any of the games! I've always kind of wanted too. Hmm, I'm pretty interested in the Kingdom Hearts series (though I've never played the first game... woops) and I enjoy the Legend of Zelda's usually. Skyrim's another one I love. I have a long list of video games I like, come to think of it... What about you, do you like playing games a lot or just once in a while?
Aw, thank you! I've been drawing since I was little, it's always been fun to me. I still have a lot of trouble on drawing though at times; poses can be so hard! That's why I draw a lot of portraits still.

I didn't understand the concept of the game and I knew nothing about the background history but now i know all about it and it's become a habit to learn everything about the characters at least before I'll play the game. The only reason I have it is because my dad couldn't find the time to play it and I would play it when I went to his house on the weekend. eventually he just gave me the PS2 we had and he still has the PS but I wanna get it and fix it. I have seen advent children cause i saw it when I looked up how much buying a copy of FFVII is ($169.99 on amazon BTW Imported from Japan since it's not made in America anymore) and since it was close to my birthday mom had been harassing me about what I wanted which was nothing until I saw that. Funny thing is she got two different FFs before that one so I got really confused.
I highly recommend DMC the order of the games is weird since they started out with him being around 35-40 then in DMC2 they went to around 40+ years old but in DMC3 he's a teen barely out of highschool it seems. 4 he's late 20s and it is not in his point of view. You have to unlock him. A lot of people hate #5 because its a remake of the entire series (don't know haven't finished the game yet just what I've heard) but he is a teen and they took away his white hair. I was mad about that.
your welcome. I started drawing in 6th grade and I'm in 10th now. So I'm still somewhat new. I have taken a art class at the local college though and that helped a lot. I understand the portrait thing completely. I hate drawing a body for people.

Aaah sorry for the late reply! I was busy these past few days. >,<
I just got a PS2 late last year, and after buying a memory card for the PS I was able to play FFVII again. That's only the second time I've played it too! Seems weird, since I've watched Advent Children so many times. I saw how expensive FFVII is on Amazon and stuff before, and was really shocked. I figured I'd save up for it one day, but my cousin surprised me by getting it for me for Christmas a couple years ago. I was so excited! But of course... since I didn't have a PS1 or PS, I couldn't play it for a whole year.
Wow, that sounds like an interesting timeline for DMC. Whaa, they took away his white hair? I always thought that made him look so cool... I always liked how his character looked, so that's why I've bee curious about the games. I will have to pick up a copy one of these days so I can finally play it.
Bodies can be so complicated.... LOL I've actually been trying to draw a full-body picture for a character of mine off and on lately, and each time I come back to it, I find something else that looks off. I'm sure I'll figure it out someday.

I know how you feel. My mom got me right movie after three tries an finally I couldn't get it out of the ps2 since I use it for a DVD player some times. I kept watching it over and over.
And guess they took away his white hair and then they mad it to where his brother still had white hair but they mad him have regular hair but when a white wig landed on his head it made him look like he had white hair but then he looked in a mirror and criticized it. That was massed up

One time, I drew up this silly stick figure story for my cousin who loves final fantasy (it was about Rufus Shinra) for a Christmas present for her (and this was years ago), and gave it to her at my family's Christmas party. Well she was laughing about it so hard, and half of my family kept looking at us oddly, especially if they tried to read the comic and didn't get it at all, or why it was funny. I would've felt awkward if my cousin hasn't been laughing so hard.

I love the movie, and I just hope that now they actually finish the series, or remake the original game or something. Have you played Dirge of Cerberus, the sequel to AC? I've been replaying it recently for the first time in years, and I'm surprised at how strange parts of it seem, as if it's kind of detached from the rest of the series in a way. And it's so short. Now I wish they'd remake that game a little too.

I've watched it so many times since I was about 10 give or take. I still love watching it but I'm not the type to watch movies or play games without someone to play with or make commentary and help me if it's a one player game. I wish they would do some clarification because I'm still confused on what part of the movie was a flashback and what was the real thing. I haven't played Dirge of Cerberus but my friend bought it and is playing it. I've heard it's in Vincent's POV a lot but that's all I know about it. I kind of wish they would redo the whole series as an anniversary special type thing. That would be cool and if they did this and remade the movie they should put a clip in the special features of the whole lifeline of the series. I'd love that.

Omg if they remade the whole entire series... I would faint from excitement.
Actually, I believe on the Advent Children Complete movie one of the special features has a sort of 'video' of the timeline of the series, showing the major events by compiling it from all the games, including a cell phone Japan-only game. But nothing like a CG movie compilation.
I love watching the movie with others too, and sometimes I hope I can get other people to like the series. But I usually just watch it by myself, because no one would watch it like I do. Dirge of Cerberus is actually pretty fun, I think; it'd a third-person shooter, but it is kind a short game, especially compared to any other FF game. I wish it was longer.

I would like to play Before Crisis perhaps on a handheld system, though since it's not released in the U.S.A., I just ended up reading the storyline online. One of the things I do wish they'd release translated into English are the Final Fantasy ultimanias. They're supposed to have a lot of information about each game they're made for, and would probably be a ton of fun to read.
....I can't say I've gotten anyone 'into it' actually, but I did get my grandpa to watch it, and he liked it a lot. He watched it one time when I was on a vacation, but he didn't know it could play in english, and he watched it all in japanese. Then when I got home and heard that, I watched it with him in english again.

That's sweet / cool my grandpa and I watch Harry potter, happy feet, and everything kid wise because he has his inner child active a lot. But that's at my house. At his use we watch syfy and other dish network channels like that that play movies all day long. One time when I was younger like around 11 he called and told me Hellboy was on and I went over with my mom and watched it with him and she ended up leaving me because it was late and the second one came on. Oh, so you like to watch movies with your grandpa? That's nice! My grandpa likes to comment a lot in movies; I don't watch movies with him too often, but sometimes I do. He likes a ton of different kind of movies
One time when I was little, he was watching this horror movie with a clown in it... and me and my sister watched it with him.
I never really liked clowns after that.... but he's pretty great, sometimes if I come across a good sci-fi or medieval-type anime, I let him know, and he'll watch them.
He's the only other one in my house that'll actually watch anime. Not very often, but I guess if the story is good, he'll like it.

He's one of the few people in this family that will watch movies with me or do anything with me really. Him and my grandma used to spoil me when I was little. When I was little my mom and dad got divorced, I was six and we moved in with my grandpa, grandma, and my aunt. I remember on right I was watching power rangers real late at night around 5 in the morning and my grandma came down and gave me about five packs of those smile gummies that you get at Wal-Mart and I fell asleep on the floor that night with the tv on.

I live with my parents and two of my grandparents right now myself, we share the same house. It's nice because I got to grow up with my grandparents around, but I'm looking forward to having my own house someday. My grandparents are great, but they don't get along the best and both have quirks about them that are sometimes hard to live with. Some people you can get along with great and live with them, and others you'd rather visit instead of share the same house.
So, you don't get to hang out with your friends very often?

I do see my friends but most of the time it's a lot of drama with all the boyfriend's and crap like that. I don't have a boyfriend and I'm happy with that. I don't mind spending one night with my girlfriends (not dating wise) but I can only take one night. There is only on person I would be able to spend a week with and that's my guyfriend. I dont know why girls are too much for me. I guess it's because I'such rather play a video game for hours but they don't play and he's the only one that does. Oh, boyfriends. I don't have one either, so you're not the only one; my two best friends are both married even! I'll admit I would like to meet a guy that I'd like, but haven't yet... it used to make me feel left out, but I've gotten over it and figure it'll happen when it happens. Oh, I've only ever really had close girl friends, which is my sis and my cousin (their spouses are good guy friends of mine now too though). The only guy I'm good friends with and that's not related to me lives on the other side of the world in Australia. A little too far away to visit, unfortunately.
Sometimes girls can be big drama queens, and that's why hanging out with boys can be so much more fun, because they usually don't gossip about stupid stuff. Oh yeah, I love playing video games for hours too!
When I was a few years younger, probably around your age, I used to play video games a lot with a boy cousin of mine. We could play for hours on end; it was pretty hilarious one time as we played through an older Nintendo 64 game once in just four hours.

For the longest time my best friend thought I was lesbian just because I never showed interest in guys so he told me that a while back I looked at him like are you stupid. I hate the girls here too. He was just like oh okay then.
Th girls here make a big deal about every little thing. The freshman here are in PE and they complain about running. I ran too much when I was in the same class an I didn't say anything about me feeling sick that day and did it anyway. I ended up in the bathroom dry heaving and sitting out for the rest of class. They scrap their knee and suddenly they can't walk. It's everyday. A couple months ago I had tendonitis and wasn't supposed to do anything with my dominant hand so I used my left hand and my friends would sometimes help me when I really needed it. Another girl in my class has it in her knee and she teaches zumba classes at the gym. The freshman girls are the worst. Sorry about that. they make me really mad everyday. My friend and I played the sam game so long my mom couldn't get us out of my room for dinner and when she did we went right back in after 5 minutes

Oh geez. Well I've never had anyone assume that about me, but I've never had a boyfriend at all, actually.
Hmm, it's not something I thought of a whole lot growing up (I was homeschooled, so I never went to a public school and got to hang out with a lot of kids my age), but I do now. I know it's weird for a 21 year old girl to not ever had have a boyfriend, but here I am. I haven't found the right guy yet, apparently. -_-
Gah, I love running, myself! Bravo of you to do that when you weren't feeling well, that's amazing! You're sure a step ahead of those other girls. In my lower back, there's a part on one of my vertebrae that's much larger than the other side, and sometimes causes a problem with me and prevents me from bending over even the slightest, but I get it adjusted once a month by a chiropractor and have started doing yoga exercises lately. I think it's helping my back, not to mention the rest of my body.
I've never had tendonitis; was it painful, or just that you couldn't move your hand?
