I just finished BBC's Sherlock. HOLYCRAP.Moffat is fantastic.
Anyway, the idea that Derpy is an intelligent, observant mare who just happens to have crossed eyes has always appealed to me. I've always envisioned her as a Sherlock Holmes kind of character (With Golden "Carrot Top" Harvest as her Watson of course).
