Honestly, I have to disagree that the contest is all about originality.

As the rules themselves say, "Entries must depict a starship suitable for integration into EVE."

Therefore we can conclude that any ship they are looking for must fit the overall aesthetic of the game. In that regard, too much originality would be a drawback.

Furthermore, from an in-character perspective, one must remember that the Amarr are both very conservative and traditional, in which case any new designs that they produce are surely to have an obvious design lineage.

As much as i agree with part of your statement, the Legion disaggrees with your 2nd half. As much as this ship is 100% suited to be integrated with EvE, originality is not meant to be in the sense of "Design an awesome omgwtfbbq spaceship of epicness" but more along the lines of lineage with a fresh new view and massive innovation on ship design.

I mean, look at version 2 ffs! SEXY.

This is actually very similar to the Prophecy Amarr battlecruiser. This one is a little flatter and longer.

Great design, but they have something so similar in this class already...shame, because I'd rather fly this one!
