Description At first I would've named it "Candyman logic" but I think many horror movies are like that, honestly.
I may be wrong with the Candyman legend, I've seen the two first movies (I'm not sure if I dare to watch the third) and I haven't read the book, so sorry if I got it all wrong, but that's just how Penny sees it, not me

And when he does go on to other 'kids' he somehow manages to kill all of the ones on elm street, why just haunt elm street when there are other streets in town, he has to use his daughter somehow to spread to other elm streets. I've only really watched the first 3 or 4 plus the crossover so I'm not as knowledgeable on events later on.
Then there's Michael somehow not knowing that his sister was dead until the paramedics said something in the fourth film and somehow in H20 he knows she faked her death and follows her.
Jigsaw at least had some logic to his madness and even I have to wonder how he planned for every single trap after his death and managed to build all of them since he didn't fully trust his successors.

Excatly, though I think he does need his daughter to bring him to other places, she's some kind of a portal or something.
(I've seen all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, so I think that's how it work, kinda)

I've only seen the two first Halloween movies (and the remakes), but I've heard so many stories with that I don't know which one to follow. There's that one where he has a curse and has to kill his whole family bloodline, but then he impregnates his niece and she gives birth to their son?
WTH I knew Michael was messed up, but come on.

Jigsaw is just a horror mastermind, I bet if there comes a new Saw movie the docter will die and Jigsaw unknow nephew or niece will take over.

Halloween has three different continuities to follow.
The first is Halloween, Halloween 2, Halloween 4, Halloween 5 and Halloween 6 which has the 'curse' where he is compelled to kill his entire family in order to find peace or something. If I remember correctly it isn't Michael who inpregnants Jaime but the leader of the cult who put the curse on Michael.
The second version is Halloween, Halloween 2, H20 and Resurrection which completely ignores 4-6 and keeps Michael as the boogeyman wth no reason behind his killings.
Then there's the Rob Zombie films.
Halloween 3 has no place since it was part of the plan for the franchise to be an anthology.
So take your pick on which Michael you'd rather have, Cursed, Boogeyman or just plain messed up.

Ah now I see O3O

I prefer the second version though, all that about a curse mark confuses me, I bet it's very interesting, but it doesn't really catch me.
And Rob Zombie's films... I guess they were alright, I like the idea, but I just don't like how he got to show it through the movies. And the second one was a joke, really.

When it comes to the curse the 6th film doesn't really explain it that well, especially since that's where it's introduced. To make matters worse there are two versions of the film, the theatrical cut and the director's cut. The story is changed drastically between them to the point it's two versions of the same idea (to get an idea see The Regulators by Richard Bachman and Desperation by Stephen King). It's almost like they were going for the same sleep demon twist Freddy had and failed to make it work with previous films.
I generally just keep with the boogeyman version and include 4 and 5 with the assumption he got his niece already by the time H20 takes place, keeps things coherent and less complicated.

Aw man, I think I'll also stick with the boogeyman O__O

LDboy In reply to Bakhtak [2015-11-04 00:55:38 +0000 UTC]

That's why I stick with the boogeyman, no real reason for killing, as well. I've only seen a little of 6 once a few years back and I'm not even sure which version it was since it was on tv. Frankly it wasn't that good since it didn't feel like it continued the story introduced with 4, the niece dies within the first 20 minutes so it's mainly the cult trying to control him and Loomis trying to stop him. Heck Loomis' fate is different between the versions as well where in the theatrical cut he is assumed to be dead while the directors cut has him live and get branded with the mark of the curse as well. Nothing comes of these since the actor died shortly after the film was finished and H20 'rebooted' the franchise.

I see, what a shame (that the actor who played Loomis died after the filming), but I also stick with the boogeyman story. No explanations for killing, no curse, just a maniac trying to get his sister.

LDboy In reply to Bakhtak [2015-11-05 14:10:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's the only reason they didn't have him for H20. If he had lived Loomis would've been in that film.
When your killer is a regular joe I find anything supernatural, besides the fact they are unkillable, bad for them. Jason at least got turned into a zombie to justify why he keeps coming back, though I find him surviving part 2 hard to swallow since he's just a regular human at that point.

True.
Otherwise he would have to do a Mary Shaw, and go for their descendants.

On fanfiction.net, under the name Truly Hopeless. I started writing stories for Hellraiser, but there isn't a lot right now, not as much as people like LJ1981 or Rurrlock God of Power have written. In a fictional universe, writing stories is the only thing stopping the horror characters from tearing me to shreds.😓 Which means I better get back to work before they get ticked.

Sounds nice O3O
I love reading fanfictions, as long as it isn't OC/yourself x Horrorcharacter lovestory (I don't want to offend anyone, I just don't like those type of stories).
Good luck C:

In my opinion I think the first and second movie were great, I can definitely recommend them. I'm not sure about the third movie, I've read bad reviews about it, but I think I'll watch it anyway.
But yes, that's pretty much how it works. You get to know more about Candyman's background in the second movie.
