Oh goodness - I had the biggest crush on Simba when I was 9. I always drew lion king characters, but with an uncoordinated fourth-grade hand. I really love your cats, they're beautiful. ;D Yay!

I think I've commented on this pic before. Or a similar one. Anyway, I love the texture. It's like I could reach out and pet him. Much better than the cartoony versions for tlk. Simba's expression is too cute!

I do like this one myself. He seems a bit darker than the Simba in the jungle scenes from the first one (Wal mart has Lion King playing endlessly on their TV-DVD displays so I see so much of TLK a week I can probably say I've watched the whole movie now more times than anyone...
Anyway, so many people have commented on this nothing I say is going to sound like anything new, but I'll repeat that it's a good picture, and I like it. The background is very well done as well. Again, this is a still straight out of Disney. You may not be working for the magic kingdom, but you very well ought to be. *s*
Good job. (and let me just go ahead and point out that I Know it's not an actual still frame... I'm just saying it really looks like it ought to be. Your work is always good.)

Nice technique Balaa. And awesome highlights within the eyes and nose and i love your consistency with shadowing, just a grand job overall. Kudos! Highlights in the eyes are mad hatter crazy and I love em.

I have a couple of questions though, did you draw the BG yourself or have preset brushes? cuz i cant tell lol! Awesome job either way and how did you color the outline of simba and yet still make it visible within the shadows with some lighter lines? j/w

Wow, this is amazing. The first thing I noticed when I saw this was the SMOOOOOOTHNESS of it all, that is just WONDERFUL. And you really captured the lighting too, like the little white highlights everywhere. I also think you really made the eyes seem alive. Oh yes. SUPREME.
