Description A revised version of the Uruk-hai steed, Morn roch, as called by the elves. This black equine was bred of the proud lines of Maeras of the Riddermark. Taken from the emerald turfs and taken into Mordor, its mind and heart were twisted into darkness. Fed hatred, the horses forgot their old masters and learned the lives of servitude and pain of their new master, the Dark Lord himself.

You know... Tolkein did mention that there were orcs on horseback but there were not as many horse riders amungst the orc armies as those in the armies of haradrim and black numenoreans.

Nope this one was originally sketched during astronomy class, devised the species in my lotr rp's. The design is still not wholly worked out though.

Beautiful work... draft horses are my favorite type of horse. I love the dark, medieval feel of this piece. It looks almost like something you'd see painted on the wall in an ancient Roman building. Very well done.

(I can see the Da Vinci inspiration )

Yes and now. I studied draft horses a while before, just doodling them, studying anatomy, muscle structure etc etc...but these I draw randomly while in astronomy class (aaah what boredom can bring out in you ). I did this image for my Computer graphics art class...we were supposed to emulate a style and I chose the old sketches of leonardo Da Vinci, the class identified it right away .

Reference, only the sketch I did before it . Ie it is from a pencil drawing I did ages ago. He is supposed to be stocky as they are not the swiftest of horses. They have to carry a huge uruk on their backs, so naturally they must be big. they are built for endurance and travelling long distances without rest, not so much for speed.
