Description
Acrylic on Canvas board. I believe the piece is 17 inches by 11 or so. I always loved the way trees can cast spotted shadows on things, especially on animal pelts. It simply amazed me how many color variations can be made by the light. I guess now I know why monet painted the same image over and over simply in varying light. Anyway this started out as a mere experiment to see if I could get the effect of spotted light. I think it worked rather well though I am unhappy with the ground because I ran out of the right brown mid painting and had to mix.Related content

That is just gorgeous! I've always marvelled at the way that light can affect things, too. We could all stand to do more experiments in light, says I! Anyway, this is just wonderful... I love it. You're great with acrylics.
