'Simbelmynรซ'Been trying to convince myself to work more real media again. Before I ever touched digital I worked in acrylic..colored pencil and pastel. But that was looong long ago and I have since gotten very rusty.
The problem, for me, with real media is...space. I do not have the space to work real media. My living quarters are fairly cramped and sooo though I have an art desk..it is usually buried under my pile of art/framing supplies. and so usually my bed serves as my impromptu desk...which works..but I tend to get frustrated with the long setup/breakdown times :/...and it also prevents me from working big. I often lose motivation to paint once I start setting up. But I was determined to at least finish one real media piece to showcase at Califur..and so here she is.

I understand your problem with painting; my studio is my bedroom, which is not very large. At all. That's why I usually can only work with small paper, and I rarely have time to set up my paints, easel, ect.
In any case.....this is a beautiful peice. It's great that you have the patience to paint all of those individual hairs. Great work!

I applaud you for taking the time to use real media. It's a lot harder to do art when you can't just delete your mistakes. The lighting in this is just superb! I love it!

Quite a stretch, and a wonderful work as always. Tasteful. I'm sure it got as many comments showcased at Cali as it has garnered here. Of course, I'm a positive fan; I'm not sure there is anything you could produce in which I wouldn't find something to enjoy.

This one is so good and so realistic that I think it's the best one I've ever seen.
You have so much talent that it's un questionable and un debatably "perfect!".
Your detail is so defined and accurate that I would not surprised that you would be employed in a filming industry or something big?

I HATE YOU! It is amazing! I love the detail on the fur! Though... I do think the muzzle's a bit long and thin, but, it's not really a draw back and it isn't that noticabe. I love the detail with the lighting as well! I love her pose too, it looks very natural! And did I mention that I hate you? GIVE ME YOUR HANDS! D:<

Wow, this is amazing.
Heh, before i worked with digital art i used just pencil, but then i started to do art in not only pencil but in pens, not the expensive kind but the 3 dollar kind that you find at wal mart =^_^= i much rather to real media though, it just feels more natura; though, even though i cant paint to save my life.
Anyways, this is really really awsome

I, too, thought this was a digital piece. But anyways, it's a great work, and the "anthroism" is partly hidden, as her pose could almost as well be that of a normal feline. I simply adore your work
