Description
Tomorrow...Something I see up ahead
Perhaps..
Beyond that hill that obscures..somehow
the light of today.
Something lies in wait, sleeping
half lucid..walking
in a dream.
Perhaps.
Beyond that hill of screaming grasses
Beyond the hands and faces I do not know
just..maybe
Tomorrow she will sit up from slumber
Yawn daintily and
look at me
Perhaps she will smile
and remember me?
She will know
when I see her eyes of blue.
So pure
It is my dream
And yet still I wake
Perhaps..beyond that hill
tomorrow.
I will see...
------
Another concept of Balaa. Here she takes on a more tiger form as opposed to the last piece where she seemed to have more lion like features. Her fur is much thicker here, a winter coat of sorts and the tuft seems to have more substance to it.
The poem inspired the piece, its a very personal piece.

The only thing I REALLY REALLY don't like about your art, is that you put hair hanging in the faces of all the ones I really like.

wauw I love it!!
you've done a great job here she looks like she is thinking about the paste what cannot be undone
and the rain suggest that she is sad, maybe she is thinking of someone who past away some while ago, someone she really misses
but she has to keep on living, thinking of tommorow rather than yesterday
just thank you for sharing this Balaa!!

I don't know if this question is appropriate or akin to a magician telling the secrets of his magic, but -- how do you go about creating these amazing works? What is your process? Though I have not done all that much by-hand painting, do you follow that sort of direction, starting with base painting and shapes then refine it (immensely)? I would imagine you use a ton of layers -- am I right in this? What is your favored brushes and filters? Do you even use them or is all of this solely 'by hand'?
I'm sorry for all the questions and I would understand if you don't answer any of them, but I'm wanting to learn ways to expand my own art, and as your works are continuously the most amazing I've seen, I see you as the most logical person to ask.

Well lets see if I can answer this somewhat concisely without going into overblown detail..as erm I tend to do. Well the process all starts with a sketch I do in real media, ie pencil on paper. They are usually rather rough but by that point I usually envision what it will look like colored...at least to some extent. Anyway once I scan in the sketch and size it up considerably in ps...I start work. The initial sketch layer is duplicated to its own layer, the original sketch I fill in with a base color ([link] )
As for filters...I highly avoid filters...I dont believe it makes for real art if most of the work was done by the computer and not you. What I do use, filterwise is the gaussion blur tool to blur the bg and in this pic's case the motion blur and gaussian blur for the rain you see in front. Other than that, I don't believe I use any filters.
I hope that kinda explains how I do stuff, I needa find the time and at least do a small tutorial .
