Description this is my final project for painting class. its a combination of two canvases, the larger being 30x30. the other canvas 20x12 is suspended from an eyehook drlled into the frame of the painting.. it holds the painting about 2 inches away from the surface of the main canvas and is hung by heavy gauge chain. oils on canvas.

pygmalion was a greek sculptor who created the most beautiful bust in the world and fell in love with it... the ultimate unrequited love, as stone does not love back.

Fascinating. Lovers with their minds aswirl begin to build the structured boxes of their lives together until that wave comes and fucks everything up only to leave blackness & emptiness with hands reaching out for companoinship and familiarity but grasping nothingness. That's what I see anyway.

I really like that you incorporated three canvus(es?).
It makes me happy when a peice goes beyond the bounds of one rectangular peice of cloth or whatnot.

I think the middle and lower canvus are stronger visually, however I like your concept and it is protrayed fairly well.
hmm.

This is a beautiful piece of art, and as always, the message you are trying to express is represented perfectly. I really have nothing bad to say about the piece, its is wonderful. The only thing I would like to discuss sometime with you is the comment I made when you were painting the center piece at my house. I said to you "This is beautiful, but also tragic." If you ever regain your respect for me as a deep thinker, you should ask me what I meant by that statement sometime. You claim to be all into zen and such, and a big concept behind zen is that all of those ugly attachments in your mind only exist if you choose to acknowledge their existance. Your memories and thoughts will always remain with you, but whether or not you choose to let them affect your day to day life is entirely up to you.

it is beautiful. it is vibrant at the same time that it is grim. it is full of everything. life and death (sorry, a little melodramatic, but that is how i see it)
