I had this image done a while ago, and forgot to post it... Haha.

Anyhoo... As a kid I loved Garfield... Hell, even now I love the older strips... And despite what people say... He USED to be funny...

Jim Davis just didn't know when to quit... He whored the poor cat out this way and that which resulted it pointless merch just to make money(Tho some of the merch I like *stares at giant Garfield toy)... And when he started using almost exactly the same jokes in his strips it was kinda clear that Garfield should come to an end. The only thing that really developed in a positive way was Jim Davis' drawing quality.

Though I sometimes wish I had some great Calvin and Hobbes merch, Bill Watterson has gone on record saying he wanted to write the strips and let them speak for themselves, and stopped writing the strips because he didn't want to sully the the respect and admiration the fans had developed for the characters... Which is great... I only wish Jim Davis had done the same...
