Artist statement:
Op, Connor's at it again, making those artistic comics and what not. So I made this story for SCAD Challenge, The topic was, how my art changes the world. Oh god the number of pretentious drafts I went through before I got here. Originally it was just going to be some figure moping around about my views on life which was way to convoluded in a 5 page story, and felt no more than stuck up and stupid emo-esk shlock. Then again, I also had an issue in where I didn't actually know where to take the story, so that was a problem as well. For all the notes on the draft I had, it was, just a bunch of monologing from a figure as he walks around a barren wasteland. I kept trying to loosen up with my writing, cause I wanted this story to be a lot more from the heart then my carefully structured "Obsession" comic. However, I would constantly go back to writing these half assed egotistical pretentious garbage that just ultimately made myself sound stuck up, or possess bare minimum in terms of personality. Then a friend gave me advise to not focus on the artistic aspect first, create my thoughts, structure them, and then flesh then out with my symbolism I love so much. And so, I just took the topic of conformity, and I straight up bitched about my hatred of conformity. And it work fairly well.
