Description This is an older pendant which still needs a nice home; it's a wire wrapped shell from Ocean Beach, CA with a dyed pale blue citrine bead inside. The silver plated wire is simple but elegant with graceful flowing curves. It measures about 1.25 inches in length and looks pretty cool from either side. Incidentally, my old DA icon was made using a crop of the top photo. Now I have a much niftier icon designed by my friend ~GemDeDude

I think this pendant is incredibly clever. On one side the emphasis is on the wire construction which looks very elegant, and the blue stone is complimentary like a supermodel behind silver bars. On the other side the concept is reversed where it's all about the shell (which I would've guessed would be a big stone if I didn't see that the back side is hollow like you would expect from a shell), which is held by a few silver wires. The fact that you can wear it both ways and the fact that both sides have directly opposing concepts (the way I reason, anyway) is very impressive, and again, incredibly clever.

Thank you! I will openly admit I wasn't trying to be clever - mostly trying to get the thing not to fall apart But intuition and instinct are both more clever than I, and directed my hand well. I was happy with the result. I'm glad you like it. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and conversation. I will add you - I think we could have good discussions in the future!

Oh, this is an awesome idea! Just yesterday my mother in law gave me a ton of shells. Maybe I'll make something. (I'll give you news about your package soon btw. )

Shells are super hard to wrap. They like to chip apart. I'm sure you'd do something awesome with them though! And yay package! So excited!

How's the baby coming along btw?

Super nice I really like the bead lying cozily inside the shell.

Lovely. The citrine bead inside puts me in mind of the pearl in the oyster, a hidden treasure inside.

Thank you, that was exactly what I remember having in mind when I made it!
