The birth of long awaited heir Kioja and Nikkanisi caused a great deal of excitement. Before their eyes were even open, the generation of cubs between Kiara and the new babies had begged to meet the new members of the pride. Kiara kept Zijazo and Udhuru nestled to her side as she brought forth the crown Princess and her twin brother. The queens' eyes crinkled into a smile as she sought out the three cubs of her lifelong friend Tiifu and the outlander Nuka, who hadn't lived to see the reunification of the prides years before. Nevertheless, he had left his mark on the heart of Tiifu, and she had raised their three cubs well. Kiara could almost smell the relief on Gaiga's coat. It was a well known secret that Gaiga was in love with the lion Mohadden, who had been the heir-apparent before the twins were born. The arrival of two healthy children meant that she was no longer in line to be queen, and Kiara knew Gaiga was grateful for that. Her two brothers, younger than her by two years were Utamo and Kumbukizi. Both of them were content to patrol the borders as their coats came in. But patrols could come later- for now, they stood with their sister along the back wall to watch as the younger cubs filtered in.
Twins Malene and Mabula came forward quickly, with Malene shifting hesitant glances to her brother. Eventually, the two would leave their home pride and journey to where Kion ruled, as Malene was betrothed to Kion's eldest son, Koro.
behind them came the two boys born of her cousin Baki and Tazama. Kung'aa and Kengele were a pair of troublemakers, but their hearts were always in the right place.
