The gate appears to be a barrier to the fog and is keeping it on the other side but it's only an illusion. The gate may keep vehicles out but he fog and I can pass through it at will.Related content

This has a lovely mysterious atmosphere. I just love walking around in the fog, even the places you know well, look so different.

The gate is there to keep the spirits inside.. they will let you enter but....they may not let you out!!

Thanks David. The gates are there to keep EVIL spirits from dumping garbage in this "back to nature" floodplain. It works too.
