When I first wrote that little comment on "The Disguise" I had little to know idea what I meant. Then I started drawing this, and it became clearer.But now even though I have some an idea what's going on, I still don't know everything!
But that's normal. XD

This has a very Spanish Inquisition / Ordo Malleus / grimmer-side-of-Equestria-Prevails aspect to it, all of which I adore. Just came across a bunch of your pics I think in the MBU-group. You mini-vignettes are very powerful and I'd love to see a storyline form from them, maybe as a collab so you're not way under burden.
The lighting (and shadow) here on Dash is very intense like a nearby building's on fire or there're ponies with torches... maybe just full moonlight. Expression and posing is pretty flawless. Outfit/gear/costume is epic. Background is enough to get the point across. Very nice.

This piece brimgs on new possibilities for the MLP universe. The darker colors and tones of the atmosphere bring out the seriousness of it. What really pulls me in, however, are the clothes/armor that rainbow is sporting. Very nice design.

This is probably the best pony armor I've ever seen.
Whereas canon armor's basically heavy plate, this is more like light armor, which I can definitely imagine Rainbow preferring over the other option.
The leather (cloth?) layer I think makes the whole suit work; instead of just tacking on some metal bits, it looks like something she's actually wearing.
Not to mention that decorative tie thing hanging off her front. That completes the piece, reminding me of the decorative fixtures you see on actual armors of similar function.
Only thing I feel may be missing are boots (minus the leg plating) for her front hooves, similar to what you see on the back hooves. That may look weird though, I dunno.
The wing blades however are spot on. Now she can totally do that *shving!* thing when unfurling them.
Either way, I much prefer this armor to the canon gold plating.

The dark future of the ponies, but its still as cute as ever. I love the cybootic elements to her I always liked good half robot things. This is 20% cooler than other half metal people.

I don't know what you've been smoking that's been putting all these ideas in your head for vaguely related epic/grimdark pony images, but it's definitely doing a good job.
You should team up with a writer and make a FiM graphic novel for Hasbro. I'd buy three copies, at least!
