Latest drawing on the artboard. Got into reading Lady Mechanika over the last few weeks and totally fell in love with the whole steampunk thing. I’ve actually had this sketch roughed out for a few years but the first time round it didn’t work out right so I abandoned it. It’s kind of a tough one, Shulkie literally wears a leotard and carries no weapons or gadgets so trying to ‘steampunk’ is more a case of just making her look ‘Victorian’. I didn’t wanna give her the obligatory goggles ‘cos she doesn’t wear any to begin with. I’ve also got a renewed appreciation for anyone that draws steampunk, those cogs and gizmos took forever!

I’ve also been trying to get back into working traditionally rather than digitally. With this one I‘ve decide to start out with a black and white ink wash and then drop the Colour in on top. So this is currently half done. Have been using black acrylic watered down and pigma micron pens for the finer details onto Bristol board.
