A drawing I did during the start of my HSC course early last year for my beautiful english teacher who decided to retire right when we needed her. This was one of the prescribed texts I had to read The Simple Gift by Steven Herrick. I did enjoy it's free-stance poem format and it was a very entertaining storyline. I actually met Steven Herrick so it was pretty fun.
It's pretty much about this teen Billy who runs away from his abusive father to live in poverty and meets Old Bill, a drunken hobo who also chose homeless as a way to escape his emotions of hisdaughter and wife's death.
