The ultimate tragic hero. I loved how JKR put it in the book : He took "Lily's love" with him, referring to the last words on her letter. The way he cried, profusely, after all these years of keeping everything inside himself... Actually he had cried far more than we could have imagined first.
I hope they won't botch this part all up. Alan Rickman is a great actor and if given the opportunity, he will surely give us a brilliant and emotional rendition of the "Prince's Tale" chapter. I hope they will let him do so.

I'm quite worried about that part in the movie...I've already been disappointed before, seeing parts I loved completely botched up, especially the "Don't call me coward" from HBP.
Anyway, I loved that moment in the book, truth that Snape really was a deep character with emotions on his own.

I love how you made him look like this and not necessarily "hot." Too many people just draw Alan Rickman, but this is what he's supposed to look like. Very nicely done, too!

Exactly. If Snape was a real person and all the people who have this crush on him (or think Alan Rickman is a hot nearly 70 year old Snape...?) actually SAW him, they'd be creeped out. He'd probably even lose their sympathy because they'd judge a book by its cover and not see him as "misunderstood" anymore. But, right, it doesn't mean he's not a great character.

You're right, I prefer a realistic Snape, and it's more interesting to express emotions that way. I admit that I'm not a fan of Snape in an anime style, as a pretty boy.
