Day 3 - Arapaima:
Large Amazonian merfolk, Arapaima mermaids are omnivorous eating fish, crustaceans, insects, seeds, and fruit.
Arapaima mermaids are calm and content merfolk found in the Amazon River basin, they are known for being large and powerful freshwater merfolk. The sheer size of these mermaids would imply that they're dangerous to humans, but they aren't and will happily swim curiously alongside humans. In the past these mermaids were hunted as their large size was able to feed a small family for days, their scales and tongues were also used for medicinal remedies. Now, they're protected by law though this hasn't stopped poaching as well trade of Arapaima mermaid steaks in fish markets.
