Description
Due to all the recent chaos in my life I needed an outlet... this is what happened! Hope that you like it despite the fact that I haven't found a scanner big enough to scan this drawing in with. So bare with me in the meantime and as soon as I can find a scanner you'll be able to see all of the tiny details I put into this.Related content

i know this piece is a bit old but i'm sure it's one you always come back to when you need to vent. you'll have to explain some of these some time, like the infinity loop or the denied robot, and the free bird. though it may all be very personal. so many words in here about being knocked back and shut in. one day soon the world will give it all back to you, and you'll be up where you belong. free, safe and happy and if not, well i'll make it my business that it does!

When I have the time I'd love to do another drawing like this one, a sort of "updated" version of it. The infinity loop represents some things that have no beginning, no end in my life. The denied robot is a reference to the second ex. The free bird represents me escaping the cage I was forced to live in by said ex. There is good and bad things in the drawing but it is all who I was at the time that I drew this.

You, a tattoo? Really? That is awesome! I've been wanting some more ink lately! I was thinking of designing a tattoo with the saying, "The only way to shine your light is in the dark, so never let life kill your spark." ^^

i seem to get this tone from most people when i bring up the topic of tattoos that i'm not the most tattoo-ey person that they think of. and i understand that, i mean, no one in my immediate family has one, or has wanted one. there's kind of a stigma around them, i get, some sign of impurity (at least that's the impression i get from my mother's side, my dad has a brother, adopted sister and a brother in law all with ink). whenever i mention the topic around them though they aren't terribly opposed, though Emily has a pretty rigid fear on infections and the likes. I just like the idea of tattoos, even if they aren't meant for me.
ahah where are you thinking of hiding this one? doesn't sound like it'll be small!

This is my opinion...if YOU want a tattoo then get one. The hell with what others will think; you're "not a tattoo-ey person" or only deviants/criminals have them crap. Because to me tattoos are art, art that reminds YOU of a time in YOUR life, something that is important to YOU. And if and when you were to ever get one just do some R&D on tattoo artist and tattoo shops, be sure they are a clean shop and the tattoo artist's style is what you're looking for. That's all you gotta do.
To be honest I don't know if I want this one hidden if I were to get it!

Damn right I have for a while wanted to get a tattoo for my books, just as a reminder because one day I want them finished and published. So for them was the idea of a raven, or the word Mana, because one of the main characters has a pair of ravens and they hold a lot of symbolism for him (not like Odin who also had two ravens). The word Mana is also a huge part of the books, its this mysterious world-altering power source, and the song Mana by Equilibrium is a massive, MASSIVE proponent of the entire story and universe and the climax of the story as it is in my mind now.
The other idea for a tattoo wraps around my right bicep/tricep, and is pretty much the black outlining of the arm band things on the armours of the Evas in neon genesis evangelion. But even then, NGE has been one of the most massive inspirations for my books. And on the back of my arm, inside the bands would be a small infinity loop, as it is the symbol of knowledge and science in my books. I was thinking the raven or Man a would go on my hand.
But you're totally right! Tattoos have been around for millenniums, well before sailors and crooks. I think too many people forget that. It's all for me
And I've always liked tattoos, except sleeves and neck tattoos, which I find pretty revolting.
I will definitely do TONNES of research before ever settling on a tattoo or tattooist.
I'll keep you posted

I do want one but I want to make sure it's good and won't get old or anything. I was talking to a friend at work and she said that everyyyyone gets infinity loops and I shouldn't. I didn't really know many tattoo cliches outside of tribal tattoos, the mom tattoo, barbed wire and in Australia the southern cross tattoo is the worst.
I'll think up more ideas

I think your friend is on crack..not "everyone" gets an infinity loop. Regardless if a symbol means something to you that is all that matters!

it was a generalisation
i can't say i've ever seen an infinity loop, but then again i don't look too closely at anyone's tattoos.
yeah she said the same thing, doesn't matter what the tattoo just make sure it's close to you!

When I get focused on something (which doesn't happen often because I suffer from A.D.O.S (Attention Deficit...Ooo Shiney) I for the most part block out what is going on around me. Though for this particular drawing I kept getting interupted by people and it had to be done spred out instead of completing it all in one sitting.

I typically do things in one sitting or I toooooooootally lose motivation. I've gotten a lot better about that and I'm glad to see you don't have that problem. I tend to draw when I should be: studying, sleeping, showering, cleaning, organizing, doing chores, or just when I'm bored. I've lacked genuine inspiration lately and have had to revert to a theme challenge but it has gone well
I am immediately involved in a free secret santa type art trade group and am working on that as well as a promised RQ.
Wow, that's a ramble if I ever saw one >.<

BantamWolf In reply to Juraco [2013-01-26 01:40:13 +0000 UTC]
I tend to "multi-task" in most of what I do. I NEED to do it when it comes to the book series (or any set of stories) that I'm working on. If I try to only work on one story at a time I'll hit a writer's block wall, working on two to three stories at a time helps prevent that. Don't be fooled I do have the problem of not finishing things I start when it comes to artwork every once in a while.
I did a secret santa during these last holidays, it was lots of fun (though what I drew didn't get the response I was hoping for)!
Rambling is just fine in my book, so ramble away because I know that I do often!

Haha glad I'm not the only one! I'm scared of what my art Santa person will think because I've never done what was requested of me. O.O
I am writing a series right now that is coming out in chapters. It's not hard to stick with because I love the story, it's just hard to find time to type up the next chapter.

A Beta reader is someone who reads your work and tries to catch any grammer mistakes, looks for anything you may have left out, and offers suggestions if need be. I've done it a few times and actually have a couple of my own, they are wonderful (keep me on my toes). Don't worry we are all our own worst critics!

No worries, I actually enjoy beta reading. I'll send you a note with all the edits and suggestions I've made. I hope that you'll like what I've changed and suggested. Some people get ubber defensive about their writing when others are trying to help them. I Beta read for someone and it backfired which kind of irked me because why did they want me to Beta read in the first place if they weren't open to changes/suggestions?! Anyway I will probably be done sometime tomorrow.

I really appreciate this. I've always found my character are to shaky and not very solid. I'll slowly read through all those when ever I have a mo' I've been known for having character that are easy to relate to though so... *shrug*.
I'm one who really likes constructive criticism. I want to improve and what better way is there? If it sounds rude though I might get defensive but I do my best to be open ^.^

I don't think it should come across rude at least I hope not. If it does please let me know. Know that I just like to help. I didn't have anyone to help me like this until a couple years ago and since then I've learned so much from others.
And so you know I think that you are a great writer! Being a writer myself reading your story gets the gears in my mind to turning. This story of yours is off to a very good start!
