The Floatports

The term "Floaport" was initially used to describe any ship that would more or less hold a spot out in the ocean for the sake of helping other ships navigate and restock along the route from Escholzia to Eriast to Catheste. The originals were mostly just sailing ships, though the private companies that owned them outfitted them with some unusual features. The decks on these Floatports usually consisted of a store to barter for goods and a lighthouse to help sailors stay on track and find the ship. Housing was available under the deck, which was occasionally accompanied by a small clinic. One section of the ship would have a floating dock to which potential customers could moor their boats for a quick stop or a night's rest. The only major problem was that the ports themselves tended to drift and were not alw
