Description

I recently tried to run mathematical formulae as Midjourney prompts. The results were intriguing: I got graphs, images with neatly arranged circles and orbs, even fractals. It would be amazing if Midjourney somehow was able to process numerical commands, but more likely it is related to what lies buried in its training set and which dots it happens to connect. That said, some formulas produced very consistent sets of images, as though there were a direct link between the maths and the result. The above image is the first of several such instances.

The formula topic is handle decompositions from topology, producing the following prompt: emptyset =M_-1subset M_0subset M_1subset M_2subset dots subset M_m-1subset M_m=M

I tried E=mc squared too, I mean, who wouldn't. It's a no-brainer.

Rather predictably, it produced a portrait of Albert Einstein.
