You do not either suck. This is excellent coloring, and the attention to detail is on par with the best. Whaddaya mean, "suck"? Look at the detail in those clouds--go on, look! I'll wait.

I have seen this film in 1983. Now I am 61 years old and from time to time i use to watch the scene with Rudger Hauer. Impossible to say what it means to me. Something like thinking about my life. Where do we come from, where will we go. How much time is left for me?
Dortmund, April 2015.....

Just discovered this film, and I love it to pieces. Oh, the stories that could spring from those last few lines of Batty's...

I had a VHS copy of it back in the eighties, and watched it over and over until i broke the tape.

i heard the "c beams" roy talks about are actually "sea beams" like these: [link]
it should indicate that he has been everywhere, from deep space to deep sea

I guess the right spelling would be in the original script. I've never heard that light beams under water are called "sea beams".

dunno, those were only rumors. maybe the only way to know for sure would be to ask rutger hauer.

Yep, I can't count how many times I've seen that movie, and all the pre-cgi special effects still look good and convincing.

yeah its amazing how much they did and the director sais that they had a low budget and i see that they performed so much with so little to make a amazing piece of art that'll last alot longer then todays sci fi

I like the combination of sciense fiction and fanatsy!
The lightning bolts are very realistic. the glowing effect is also done very well!

Thank you idk! You know when you see all those cool speedpaints where someone seem to just throw stuff together and it ends up being the coolest enviroment you've seen. That was what I wanted to do... Not really how it played out for me.

probably because you're not very used to them, even with speed painting is a matter of practice!
Anyway, you're very welcome...

I know, I know. Practice, practice! I neet to learn a good workflow for it. I usually work in one or just a few layers but with this I think I need to resist the reflex to merge layers.

Claudia-SG In reply to BAproductions [2011-10-24 13:54:55 +0000 UTC]
ehehehe well, imho it's not necessary a matter of layers, it's a matter of brushes: keep a good taste and good "shades" even with speedy strokes. Anyway, it's mostly a matter of tastes: there are different kind of speed painting; in my case for instance, I like to keep it fresh without refining details as I usually do, but even if strokes are not very precise, I like the same to give the impression of a nice blending!

I would like to be able to work with the lasso-tool like I've seen many do. I think that would be a good place to start when making landscapes.

I use it when I color comics... Actually I use more the pen tool (vector) because if I need a curve is easier to use (and the result is better). It's a nice technique but I prefer painting, it's less "stressing" for me...

They don't use it to make 'flats' but to cut out irregular shapes getting a 'random' look to their terrain. That is a technique I'd like to learn.

aaaah ok...anyway, a useful trick about it is to take some photos with a good definition, use the PS cutout filter and see how the photos turn out and then try to reply it: to me it was very useful!
