Description One of pieces I did for Palladium Books [link] relaunch of the Robotech [link] line. An example of one of the Occupational Character Classes available, the Urchin. Children orphaned by the Invid Invasion and the subsequent attempts by the Mars Division to liberate the Earth, they're kids who live by their wits & have to be tougher than they look to survive the shadow of the alien Invid. And example in-series of an "Urchin" character would be Annie "Mint" Labelle, the tagalong scavenger who seemed to be the "team pet" for Scott Bernard & co.

In the book she only appears as the line art, but I added some grey to her jacket here. They have little in the way of starting equipment, possibly one or two personal effects. I figured a violin & case (wonder what it's name might be?) and a pendant (that might reveal an undiscovered lineage?) would set off the character as energetic and cheerful, despite of a hard life. I also drew her using a towel to cushion her shoulder while she plays and dances. The description for Standard Equipment actually listed some toiletry items... so... I figured her for the sort of girl who really knows where her towel is!

All this said.. yeah... hmm.. the sawed-off stature, the blonde hair in a ponytail... the violin... (what might it be named now?). Heheheheheh... glad I snuck this much into that book. ^_^

I liked the season where Mint appeared, she is my favorite Robotech's character.

I'm lost with regards to most of the references, but I like the spirit in this image

Well, that's why I provide links, but the rest is kinda explained in the rest of my art around here.

It'll be something to read up on on a rainy day, I got a distinct feeling that I may end up getting lost in the backstory for hours

Yeah. I figured I'd try to integrate as much as the previous two generations in my art as possible. Also hints at not only a character, but ways to play.

That's my ideal with Robotech art. I'm a Mospeada fanboy, but new Robotech art should be Robotech IMO and things like that help.
