Concept art for the native people that inhabit the grasslands of Northland. They're largely subsistence farmers with some being nomadic.

The geodesic dome represents a practical dwelling, and not something built for looks. In this region, known for its windstorms the shape makes the structure very wind resistant. They're also very energy efficient and can be built with wood harvested from local hedgerows, wood that is rarely ever available in the long lengths needed for a traditional house. In the old days these equines would have lived primarily in earthen lodges built partially underground, and even to this day some still do.

They differ in appearance from other equines, being thinner and not as stocky. They also typically will have unusual patterns on their coats, such as spots, blotches and sometimes a cowhide coloring. Some have a combination of these.

They prefer the large open grasslands and will rarely ever settle in large cities. Only Eerie City(a city I based on Detroit) and a few surrounding towns have a significant population of them. And they consist mainly of the descendents of those who fled massive dust storms to work in the factories in the 1920's
