Description Questioning the official story is NOT disrespectful to the victims.
I'm not asking you to believe a conspiracy theory.
Just to think for yourself.
Is that wrong?

All opinions welcome.

i really really like this picture. the relfection of the boy in the water not being able to see the clear reaflection i think means searching for something trying to refinde who they r. its a vary deep emotional picture.

You're mind must be a beautiful place! I really do like the idea to this one, amazing image to match it. To throw out my opinion, I do believe in conspiracy, and I'm glad you point out that people should have opinions on the subject.

sure thanks for your comments, and I agree, something never sat quite right with me about that day, how we aren't supposed to talk about it, etc. I have a small piece of concrete from the towers, it's sort of a muse for me... if walls could talk, right?

Its a powerful image, well done. At first I didn't understand the reflection but the more I thought about it the more I got. Nicely done.

As a non-American we in other countries, rightly or wrongly, often do question what the American Government tells us of events and why they happen. History has unfortunately shown us that many governments make up or exaggerate events to suit their own purpose. This doesn't take away from the world's feelings of shock, horror and sorrow over the 9/11 event.

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback, especially being from the international community. But unlike the majority of history, the Internet is now allowing (some) people a mode of unfiltered communication, which presents a problem for such a ruling body.

No longer can there be so many cover ups as in the past. Like Moulder and Scully would say 'the truth is out there'

Added though, sorry for the second post...

And yet, it's still there. Whatever the reason for the attacks, if for the purpose of getting rid of something, it's a lesson that nothing can ever be permanently removed from history, from memory. Facts and fiction may become intertwined, and reasons lost to time, but the truth remains - even if you can't see it through 'normal' or 'usual' avenues.

Not just for the WTC and the lives lost there... Also, for anything and everything in history, all life and the multitudes of forms it takes; hate nor love can totally obliterate anything...

I have more thoughts, but they are going spiritual and I rather be cautious with religious/spiritual ideas.

No please, keep them coming. I'm glad to see this piece can reach that far into someone else's psyche. I think the same holds true for many people, that is, when it happened they turned to their religious and/or spiritual beliefs in seeking an absolution for what they saw. As everyone is different everyone has a slightly different way of seeking that absolution. That diversity is exactly what I'm looking for here

You're welcome!

Eh - I very rarely believe in coincidence; to me, things happen for a reason, even if we don't know it, even if it seems totally senseless in a horrible way.

It's also my belief in the end everything shall balance out, wrongs righted and forgiveness given to all; but of course, I do not fully believe in a never-ending utopia or distopia, just things have to balance out...

As sad as that is.

Okay, that went beyond 9/11. It's still a shock, to know that those buildings are gone. I sometimes wonder about the horror the people on the 107th floor felt, because I see no way they could've gotten out of there without a miracle!

I have my opinions and feelings, but I do feel sorrow for the dead. It is indeed a great travesty and tragedy...

Seeing the reflection in the water, but no one is really there plus the title makes me think that the WTC is absolutely gone. Its destruction was absolute; at least the two tallest buildings. It's gone, it's just gone.

Great concept, the fact that you only let the person's reflection eliminating the person is very interesting. Does this mean that such symbols of great economic power that were the "twin towers" of the World Trade Center, even though they were taken down they still reside in the memory of millions of americans, as well as the people that died that day? Though you could make something like this with a picture of those buildings I think you wanted this to be a bit more personal, displaying your feelings toward that regretful event... Just a thought...

Persons that can only be seen in mirrors (or in water) always freaked me out. Maybe beacuse I always have difficulties in recognising left and right when I am looking into mirror. And about the photo I think that you got here brilliant idea.

i think this could probably symbolize the feeling of powerlessness facing the 9/11 events.
in my view, it also can mean that people can feel doubt about the governement's reaction, and the "how to deal" with it.
dunno..
great work
