I always had a soft spot for crows. I thought they were the outcasts of the birds. I'm sentimental like that. The Germans thought god (Odin) owned two of them (technically Ravens, but same difference...) and they use to tell him secrets about the world.
I'm sorry for your loss. I know it's still fresh. I hope your meeting with family went/is going well.
