My first try at "up close and personal".Many thanks to second-circle for sharing skin settings this was based from: Still so much to learn with honing textures and lighting.

I still have a ways to go to get mine to look as good as your example. I'm guessing that has mostly to do with lighting, so I'm going to experiment with that in the near future. I look forward to seeing your eye shaders.

I am using a few simple HDRi's for most of my stuff at the moment. I ended up testing about 50 of the things and found a handful I liked and use these for different setups and feels. Non direct lighting ambient lighting is much more flattering for the skin - so shaded HDRi's work quite well instead of direct sunlight. Have made a few in PS and am getting them close to what I'm after too. Eyes are nearly done I think. Problem is that every single part of the eye has a different shader setting

Yeah, I need to experiment more with them. This is my first HDRi I've used. Need to try others. I'll be on the lookout for your "eyes".
