warum schlingern die meteore da so runter?

was meinst du mit schlingern?

TobiasRoetsch In reply to Baro [2007-11-19 12:21:01 +0000 UTC]

TobiasRoetsch In reply to Baro [2007-11-19 12:41:42 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's really good, I'd love a wallpaper version.

P.s. I clicked the print request button accidentally, however, if I had money to spend, I'd totally consider purchasing some of your stuff. xD

did you use a tablet per chance? I havent even gotten mine yet!! I am sooooo late on the digital art scene, i hope i can catch up XP

Baro In reply to Enuryn [2007-11-19 12:14:16 +0000 UTC]

nope. don't have a tablet. the landscape was done in terragen 0.9 and the space part is photoshop. there was some brushing involved, but i did that with the mouse . i would like to get myself a tablet, but just having one doesn't make you a better artist...

This is a really nice piece, the colors really stand out in this one. Nice work on the sunset as well. Was this painted or rendered? It seems more like a painting but I might be wrong!

Either way, really nice job.

Love the perspective. The coloring's great, and those three bright stars in the sky draw the eye somehow. It's beautiful.

I actually prefer the tilt setup you had in your journal preview; still, its a good mod.

Baro In reply to SamODJ [2007-11-19 00:41:53 +0000 UTC]

glad you like it. thx for the critique too. the one from the journal preview is actually the one in the calendar. with the artwork version i couldn't really decide. any reason you prefer the other version?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SamODJ In reply to Baro [2007-11-19 00:58:14 +0000 UTC]

Well, it has more of a horizontal element, which I think is always key with landscape work. Literally, that exact crop from your journal has great power when it comes to light, due to the illusion of the light from the sky leading your eye from foreground to background.

Baro In reply to SamODJ [2007-11-19 01:19:50 +0000 UTC]

hm i guess there's some truth in that. maybe i get a little out of hand with the tilted horizons sometimes. I just like testing out perspectives people won't recognize as natural... but that can become a bad habit at some point.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SamODJ In reply to Baro [2007-11-19 01:22:38 +0000 UTC]

Well, as i say, perspective with horizons can work wonders. It is just in this case, I think the lighting setup rendered by the more vertical approach, ala the deviation here, is flat compared to the journal example. But thats me.
