High above an un-named planet in the High-Port, a Darrian and Aslan offer an enticing contract to the characters.

It was a simple run, or so the Darrian assured us... carrying supplies to a small independent research station out in the Five Sisters. We just needed to avoid brawling Vargr in the High-Port, roving Sword Worlder or Zhod patrols between us and the destination, and then unload the cargo. Batting those ice-blue eyes at the boss, the Darrian woman wrapped him around her little finger on the fees and then said she and her pet Aslan would be coming on the trip as well.
We should have known then that it wasn't going to be a cake run....
I'd heard of the Darrians in the academy, those aloof and soul-less tree huggers that supposedly detonated a star in their home system back in the past, but this woman wasn't what I'd imagined. She walked funny with those wide hips, and towered over everyone else in the bar except for her Aslan, and those tattoos on her face and arms were shimmering in the light of the planet below us. When she spoke, there was a mesmerising glimmer in the eyes that held you fast, and without a thought she pulled out a holo projection and showed us the destination as her voice wooed the boss through its soft tones.
Her name was Rebkah Rosin, she said, and it turned out that everything I'd heard about them living in trees and singing eerie songs amongst the vines was nothing but a myth....
